I retired in April 2006 with 20 years of service in the United States Air Force.  I am a Desert Storm, a Gulf War Veteran and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran.  I worked as a Mental Health Nurse during my Desert Storm deployment. While deployed from 2005-2006 to Balad, I worked as the Medical/Surgical Ward Flight Commander and Infection Control Nurse at the largest surgical trauma hospital in Iraq.

I also have extensive experience working with Veterans recovering from the trauma of Post Traumatic Stress.  As a Research Nurse Coordinator at The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research where I studied the rates of  OIF/OEF and OND wounded warriors with PTSD.

I worked with veterans as a mental health nurse in this OEF campaign. I was a Mental Health Clinical Nurse Leader at Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.  My experience includes working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mental Health for The U.S. Army Southern Regional Medical Command.

I most recently gained a vast amount of experience as a Community Mental Health Crisis Registered Nurse Supervisor for The Center for Healthcare Services in San Antonio, Texas.  I served individuals throughout the Bexar County area who required immediate treatment for mental health and addiction problems.
